who we are:
Kate has traveled extensively both domestically and internationally. Her ideal accommodations are affordable, well curated, incorporate nature, and community.
Kevin is also well traveled, has an adventurous spirit, an extroverted personality, and loves working outdoors.
Kate & Kevin got married in 2021 and spent their honeymoon roadtripping in a campervan down the iconic Hwy 1 from San Francisco to LA. This road trip is where the foundation for Base Camp began.
Kate and Kevin started brainstorming as soon as they arrived back home to Kentucky. Shortly after, Base Camp at The Red was born.
Our priority from day one has been to provide a place to reconnect and recharge in nature without the sacrifice of luxury, comfort, and style.
Our mission is to create an eco-friendly retreat perfect for all group sizes, and budgets, while respecting and caring for this place we love so much.
